Songbird ReMix Series "Expecting" at end of April

The long awaited Motherhood project should be in a DAZ store, as well as the revised first 10 volumes of the series, towards the end of April to coincide with John James Audubon's Birthday.  The "hatchable" egg is completed (test animation) and will have the ability to morph and texture into any of thirty bird species eggs.  Ken is currently working on the hatchling model that will fit into the egg and hatch from it.

The 10 revisions, when in the DAZ systems, can be download by asking DAZ for an download reset of the specific product. In the next newsletter, availability will be specifically spelled out.  The volumes revised are: Songbird ReMix, Characters, Woodpeckers, Threatened, Cool & Unusual, European Edition, Africa, SBRM2 2nd Edition, Pet Shop and Game Birds. In addition, Pose Pack has be updated to include some of the morphs in the latest CR2.

Toucans 30% off Sale ends March 13th

Ken's latest "Toucans" is 30% through March 13th at DAZ3d.com.  On the 13th also expect a one day "March Madness" sale of Ken's non-Songbird Remix 3D products such as Seashore House, African Explorer and others at 50% off.

Why only non-Songbird Remix items? Will the rest be on sale again soon?
Ken knowingly smiles and says, "Yup... and if you've read between the lines of this newsletter you might even know when."

You'll see a "updated" message with a date ext to the download hyperlink. May sure you download the latest CR2 and "Universal Bump & Transparency Maps" in the General Updates Section.

New in the Yucatan Section:

  • Barred Antshrike
  • Tawny-throated Leaftosser

New in Toucans Section:

Next...

Once Ken finishes "Motherhood", he'll move to two back-to-back projects; Songbird ReMix Ducks and a stand-alone Condor-Vulture pack. Both will which feature many of the most common and popular birds throughout the World (specific species list on planned project page). Release timing for these two projects will be dependant on the large amount of modeling and morphs that needs to take place to create the species-- but Ken's hoping for early summer. For those who wonder what happen to "Barnyard Fowl", it's been moved back in order to make the product more affordable by taking advantage of "Ducks" and other models. The proposition of creating and rigging 5 new character models (a duck, a rooster, a hen, a chick and a goose) specifically for "Backyard" and pricing it within "normal" Songbird ReMix prices became unrealistic.

REAL BIRDS: FESA Needs Your Help  from audubon.org

The Endangered Species Act:  An Essential Safety Net

The strongest federal safeguard against the extinction of bird species in the United States is the Endangered Species Act. Enacted in 1973, the ESA has helped save some of America's most critically imperiled birds and wildlife, including species like the Bald Eagle, the Peregrine Falcon, the Gray Wolf, the Grizzly Bear, and the Whooping Crane.

Despite its success, Congress in recent years has seriously considered proposals that would gut the fundamental protections this bedrock environmental law provides to America's most endangered birds. The changes in Congressional leadership that resulted from the 2006 elections are expected to restore balance to the debate about protecting our endangered and threatened species. One very positive sign is that the Bush administration proposed early in 2007 to list the polar bear as ‘threatened’ under the ESA, as a result global warming.

Audubon's Public Policy Office is working aggressively to educate key members of Congress, mobilize activists, and dispel Endangered Species Act myths in order to help ensure the survival of America's most vulnerable birds and wildlife.
