Bed & Breakfasts

Southern Arizona

TUCSON - The Desert Dove  (Notes: Located within a half mile of Saguaro National Park East. Best birding at Saguaro is at the picnic area just past the Visitor's Center-- Park, sit at a table and in 10 minutes they'll (10-15 species!) will come to you! Hot tub under those "Big Sky" Stars at the Dove, too.)

SIERRA VISTA - Casa de San Pedro (Notes: Located literally at the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area. Great birding even at the breakfast table. Be sure to check out the tiny pond at dusk-- hundreds of female blackbirds drive into the reeds-- it's a weird sight to behold. Great restaurants in the area, too. Check out the "Outside Inn".)

CHIRICAHUA/WILCOX - The Chiricahua Foothills (Notes: Located 100 yards outside of Chiricahua National Park on a working ranch. They serve Dinner and Breakfast. Be sure to say "Yes" to dinner-- the closest food (if you can call it that) is 35 miles away and believe us, it's a l-o-n-g 35 miles. The food at the B&B is excellant-- better than you'd get in most $$$ restaurants in Big Cities and be sure to wear your stretch pants, because you get a lot. ) Info: Wes & Onieta Reeves. Dos Cabezas Route, Box 6310, Willcox, AZ 85643. Ph. 520-824-3632 or 800-511-6692. $70-75 a night with breakfast included, dinners served extra.

Germany

BAVARIA - Hotel Rubezahl  in Schwangau. This hotel has a great view of the Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles, plus is next to the Schwangau Nature Park. The rooms were reasonable priced on a quiet street with ample parking.  It has it's own restaurant  and the food was incredible. All the staff was very friendly and professional (and speak English). (For Birders: There's a 100% chance is seeing mute swans, blue and great tits, European robins, bull and chat finches and blackbirds)

Belize

ORANGE WALK DISTRICT - The Lamanai Outpost Lodge  While not for the resort-luxury type of vacation (and why would you want to go to Belize for that anyways?), this lodge has great food -- 3 big meals a day (2 with deserts!), incredibly friendly staff, filtered water and the best birding in Belize. Also, a huge Maya city currently be excavated within a 1/2 mile walk on the lodge. Birders:  Be sure to ask for the "BIRDING" package.
