Several weeks of rain in early 2005 caused lengthy commutes and the stop/start/stop/start rhythm of traffic kept me car-bound an hour beyond my usual drive. Details along the route sparked a new interest. Curbs-became my new focus. No two sections- were alike— I noted the particularly colorful, cracked, scuffed and textured curbs so I could return to photograph them. Ultimately, collages of colors of the rainbow, patterns and words emerged, inspiring this collection. |
