Beyond the Present...

The Foundation of work is the use of variations combinations, and permutations of corrugated cardboard boxes and their inner divider elements. There is a fascination of using any "Throw -Away" that come in multiples (empty test tubes in their packaged state, wood boxes, cardboard labels, cloth bags, etc.). Now, however, instead of drawing the image on a zinc plate, I use a digital camera or digitally scan the actual 3D piece I have found. Then, I apply the principal of the '3-Rs'- remake, rework, and resolve - using the digital image combined with encaustic (wax) medium.
