Marjorie Sarnat Born and raised in Chicago, Marjorie Sarnat majored in painting and drawing as a student at the School of The Art Institute of Chicago. She later enrolled in Eastern Michigan University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. Marjorie also studied art at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and continued her studies with several noted painters. Her artistic emphasis has always followed two paths: Emphasis on traditional portrayals of the human form, and explorations of color and texture for the pure sensual pleasure of it. It was the passion for color and texture that led Marjorie to an earlier career in textile design, and the love of the human form that later led Marjorie to a career designing award-winning collectibles and Project Runway ® branded paper dolls. Now Marjorie brings her professional experience to her fine art paintings, starting with the Hidden Treasures ™ series of collages. She often uses images from her representational works to incorporate into richly painted abstract surfaces.“I continue to explore my vision as a fine artist, and believe that the Hidden Treasures series synthesizes my true artistic spirit.” Marjorie lives in Southern California with her artist husband, daughter and son.
