NikiI discovered the underwater world and photography fairly late in life, when on a trip to Egypt with friends. Unhampered by knowledge, I dropped over the side of the ship and instantly fell in love! Since then I have traveled extensively to places like Borneo, The Galapagos Islands, and Indonesia! With every trip my passion grows stronger. I am fascinated by the beauty, the exotic range of colors, the symbiotic relationship of the animals to each other and to the reef in which they live. It is a constant learning experience! Sometimes calm and peaceful, sometimes wild and dangerous, but always fascinating! In the beginning I concentrated solely on the wide-angle reef scenes, but in the last few years I have become intrigued with the tiny creatures that inhabit those reefs. They are almost invisible to the naked eye and it requires great patience to find them and then, more importantly, to get into their comfort zone and be allowed to photograph them. Always trying to make eye contact, we develop a relationship. It's a love affair! My thanks to Robert Gino and Don Grant for mounting my show at the Orlando Gallery! Kirk DriscollI am a native of Southern California and raised in the San Fernando Valley. I attended both L.A. Valley College and Pierce College studying art. I am self taught in photography, being an avid photographer for many years. The photographs in this show can be described as ADVERTISING vs the ELEMENTS = ART. No photo-shop is used in these images.
