Due to their gregarious nature, and harsh scolding and grating calls, they have developed a plethora of other colloquial names. They are also known locally as “Lousy Jacks” (due to heavy louse infestations), “Happy Jacks”, “Happy Families”, “Grey Jumpers” and the “CWA Birds”.
